My name is Candace

I grew up in a small West Virginia coal camp, where my Nana’s love for photography sparked mine at age 8, her camera always capturing me and my family, her favorite subjects as we played in the mountains or gathered for Sunday dinners. Those early moments behind her lens taught me the magic of freezing time.

Now, with 15 years as a professional photographer, I carry on her legacy, inspired by the 10 family heirloom albums she left me, reminders of how precious captured moments are to hold onto for generations.

I’m captivated by life’s joy and beauty, noticing every detail, from the way a child’s laughter lights up a room to the quiet glances between a couple, and finding unique perspectives to make your photos truly special. I pour creativity into every session, creating one-of-a-kind memories for families, seniors, couples, and individuals in Kandiyohi County and beyond, ensuring each moment reflects your unique story.

I also give back, supporting local charities with my photography, advocating for mental health by partnering with legislators and community groups, and bringing the West Virginia values of helping others that I grew up with to my community here in Minnesota.

My work has been published in over 30 magazines, including Vigour Magazine’s “Modern Western” spread and several covers and features in Moevir Magazine in Paris, and I’ve earned many awards for my dedication to this craft I hold so dear.
